when we realized that the world was changing (and not necessarily for the better), we decided it was time to take action in whatever way we could. using our combined skill set, we decided to create something meaningful to support people’s well-being. among several ideas, the one that stood out was who!cares, a response to the growing emotional toll of isolation, anxiety, and disconnection (a result of the COVID-19 pandemic) that had left many struggling with their mental health.


the COVID-19 pandemic had forced people to isolate themselves, leading to increased feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression. coupled with the lack of physical contact, reduced social interactions, and uncertainty about the future, this all contributed to a decline in people's emotional and mental wellbeing, and a widespread mental health crisis.
we developed who!cares as a super simple app that allows users to easily check in on their family and friends. through the app, users can create a space with their loved ones or social groups, and quickly share daily status updates about how they’re feeling. with daily reminders for status updates and a call/chat functionality that enables users to reach out to anyone that’s not feeling 100%, it’s a safe, welcoming app for staying connected with those who matter most.
